Lots of Laughs
– Everyone sits in a circle. A balloon is tossed in
the air. Everyone has to laugh and keep laughing will the
balloon is in the air. As soon as the balloon touches the
ground everyone has to stop laughing. Anyone caught
laughing after the balloon touches the ground must hop
around the circle once. |
|
Rumble & Reverse
- Make a circle with chairs. Have enough
chairs for all but one person. One person is the “chair
snatcher” and stands in the center of the circle. The rest
of the people sit in the chairs. When the chair snatcher
yells “RUMBLE”, the people in the chairs move one chair to
the right while the chair snatcher tries to find a seat to
sit in. Everyone keeps moving one seat to the right until
the chair snatcher yells “REVERSE” then everyone moves to
the left. They chair snatcher can yell “REVERSE” at any
time. When the chair snatcher finally snatches a seat the
person to their left is the new chair snatcher. |
|
Huff & Puff
– A line of tape is put on the floor on each side of the
room. The group makes 2 teams. Half of each team stands in
a line behind the tape on one side of the room. The
other half of each team makes a line facing them behind the
line of tape on the other side of the room. The people
behind the first line have to get a tennis ball to the
people behind the other piece of tape by blowing on the
tennis ball. You cannot use your hands or any other part of
your body to move the tennis ball. You can only blow
on it. When you reach the tape on the other side of the
room then you sit down and that person on that side has to
blow the tennis ball back to the other side. Everyone keeps
blowing the tennis balls across the room until everyone is
sitting down. |
|
Hug Bug
– The kids make 2 teams. Each group chooses one person to
be the bug body. The rest of the kids will be the bug
legs. In bug legs needs to kneel side by side. Then the
bug body lays across the backs of the bug legs. When the
leader says “GO” the bugs (body & legs) will crawl to the
other side of the room. When one bug reaches the wall the
group hugs and then quickly forms another bug with someone
else as the body. The game keeps going until everyone has
had a chance to be the bug body. |
|
Cotton Ball Express
- The leaders will scatter cotton balls
all around the room and place a bowl in the middle of the
room. The players will get either an emery board, a
clothespin or a drinking straw (the leaders
will pass them out randomly) one item per player. The
players will pick up the cotton ball by either snagging it
with the emery board, pinching it with the clothes pin, or
sucking it up with the straw. The players will then carry
the cotton ball to the bowl and put it in as fast as
possible. After all the cotton balls are picked up the
leaders and scatter them again and the players can try using
a different item than last round to pick them up. |
|
Rompin’ Rummage Relay
- Kids get into teams. The teams form lines at one end of
the room. Each person in the front of the line will be
handed a bag with clothes in it. When the leaders
say “GO” the first person in line carries the bag to the
other side of the room and then puts on the clothes in the
bag. Then the person has to hop back to their group wearing
the clothes. Then the person takes off the clothes and
passes them to the next person in line who does the same
thing. The game goes on until each person has had a chance
to wear the clothes. |
|
Friendly Fanning
– Kids get into teams of 2. Each person gets a paper
plate. Each team gets a balloon. The teams line up on
one side of the room. Each team has to get their balloon to
the other side of the room by keeping it in the air by
fanning it with their paper plates. After each team gets
their balloon to the other side of the room change partners
and try again. |
|
The Blob
- The leaders will select a “tagger”. The
tagger may tag any one’s shoulder with his/her hand but must
continue holding on. As each person is tagged he/she
becomes part of the blob and must stay with the original
tagger to touch someone else’s shoulder. Only the tagger
may tag other players. The last person to get tagged
becomes the tagger in the next round. The tagger may chose
to be a dog (running around on hands & knees), a kangaroo
(hopping on two feet) or a horse (running on two legs – like
regular tag). Everyone in the blob must do the same as the
tagger. |
|
Cookie Capers
– The leaders will fill a plate with cookies. The
cookies will be put at one end of the playing area. The
kids will get into groups of 2 and stand at the other end
of the playing area. One of the leaders will be the
“caller” and call out actions for the kids to do. The teams
need to listen carefully to the caller. The teams will do
the actions while they are trying to move toward the plate
of cookies. Some of the actions might be for the teams to
be a wheelbarrow, lock arms back to back, or twirl toward
the plate of cookies. Each team will take a turn until
everyone reaches the plate of cookies. Then you’ll eat the
cookies! |
|
Bandanna Bandits
– The kids get into 2 teams. The teams should stand in 2
single file lines. Each kid should hold the waist of the
kid in front of them. The leaders will give a bandanna
to the last kid in line. That kid should tuck the bandanna
into their pocket (or their waistband if they don’t have
pockets) so the bandanna hangs down like a tail. The first
player (only the first player) in each line tries to get the
bandanna from the end of the other line on the other team
while the other kids need to keep holding on to the person
in the front. After someone gets the bandanna change the
person in the front of the line. |
|
Tag & Toss
– The leaders will choose two kids to be the “tossers”.
These kids will have an object (a paper wad, or a balloon
or a tennis ball) to toss back and forth. As long as
they are holding the object they can’t be tagged. The rest
of the kids are “taggers” and try to tag the people while
they are tossing the object back and forth. When someone is
tagged they become “tagger” and the person who tagged them
becomes a “tosser”. |
